The examination in accordance with §34a of the Trade Regulation Act (GewO) at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) consists of two parts: a written and an oral part.

Written exam:
- Format: Multiple-choice questions.
- Duration: Usually 120 minutes.

Oral examination:
- Format: Examination interview in front of an examination board.
- Duration: About 15-20 minutes.
- Content: In the oral examination, practical questions are asked to test the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life situations.

This can be paid directly at the time of application (in cash or by EC card, depending on the authority). - Processing time: The certificate of good conduct is usually sent to you by post within 1-2 weeks.

- A new ID card with activated online ID function.
- A card reader or an NFC-enabled smartphone.
- The AusweisApp2 software, which you can download free of charge.

- Identification: You must identify yourself with your new ID card and the AusweisApp2.

- Needs assessment: Your training needs will be determined during the consultation.

3. selection of the training measure:
- Recognized measures: The desired further training or retraining course must be offered by a certified training provider and usually also be listed in the database of the Federal Employment Agency (KURSNET).
- Educational institutions: Find out about various educational institutions and what they offer.

4. application for the education voucher:
- Application: You submit the application for an education voucher together with your case worker.

- Checking the application: Your application will be checked by the Jobcenter or the Employment Agency.
